The Federal High Court in Umuahia Abia state will today hear the extra-ordinary rendition suit brought to them by the leader of the proscribed group, the Independent people of Biafra.

The suit was filed befor the court by Kanu’s lawyer on March, 2022. The suit seeks to redress what he called ‘infamous unlawful expulsion or extraordinary rendition of Nnamdi Kanu which he said it is a violation of his fundamental rights.

Kanu is seeking amongst others for Court to grant an order of injunction restraining and prohibiting the respondents from taking any further step in any criminal prosecution against him, as well as an order to make the respondents pay the sum of twenty billion naira to him as damages.

Nnamdi Kanu Lawyer Aloy Ejimakor in a statement said the incident in Kenya is a clear violation of his fundamental rights under article 12(4) of the African Charter on Human and people’s rights as well as Chapter IV of the Nigeria constitution.

We are seeking to stop his prosecution and rest2him to the ztatus quo before his rendition on the 19th June, 2021, Ejimakor added.
