Cross River State PDP in Shape, Waiting To Capitalize On APC…. Obue
The People’s Democratic Party (PDP), in Cross River State seems to be taking shape after the conclusion of its primaries which looks free and fair to the public.
The party seems to be waiting to capitalize on the ruling party, All Progressive Congress (APC) blunders.
A Chieftain of the ruling party Obue Clifford said; It should be worthy of note that the ruling party’s primaries is filled of abnormalities ranging from fielding in unpopular candidates, imposition of candidates against the will of the People and trying to use consensus to scatter the party further.
It will be recalled that most PDP aspirants has even gone ahead to pledge their support to the winners of their just concluded primaries, the APC aspirants on the other hand are jostling to appeal the outcome of the primaries in court.
This is not far fetched as recently a senatorial Aspirant Chief Okoi Obono Obla called out the party, saying it is heading to its biggest destruction in the state.
Also the Ikom/Boki Federal Constituency primaries of the APC remains inconclusive after 3 attempts. Most aspirants and the people said the reason is not far fetched, imposition of a candidate against the will of the people.
A former Commissioner said we are waiting for the right thing to be done, until then the APC primaries for Ikom/Boki Federal Constituency remains inconclusive and suspended indefinitely.
Dont forget the primaries where not allowed to hold as a result of a certain aspirant hijacking the process by fielding in different deligates from what was obtained from the congress.
On the other hand, the PDP seems to be set and prepared to face the task ahead given the prefered condidate emerged without rancor.
Events ahead will unveil if the APC in Cross River State is ready to retain power or working towards donating power to the PDP.
